About the Estimator Position:

The Estimator will be a crucial role within the JHC Preconstruction department. The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of the commercial construction industry, be able to understand architectural drawings and specifications and be technologically savvy.

JHC is in the process of growing its pre-construction division and would like the Bid Coordinator to have the desire to eventually advance their career within the estimating team.

What You'll Do:

In this role, your dynamic energy and enthusiasm will be a key trait in helping establish a strong preconstruction team for the future. You'll have exposure to many parts of the estimating process including:

Compiling subcontractor bid lists
Organizing bids on multiple projects
Attending job walks
Growing our subcontractor network
Compare bid estimates to ensure quality and accuracy
Set up new project estimates
Assist Senior Estimator throughout the bidding process

What We’re Looking For:

1-4 years Commercial Construction General Contractor experience / exposure
Basic understanding of the construction process and estimating
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Procore (preferred) and Bluebeam (preferred)
Strong organizational and communication skills
Natural curiosity and enthusiasm to learn and grow in the role
Can read or have a desire to learn to read construction documents
