Located in the heart of the Pearl District in downtown Portland, Room & Board are purveyors of modern home business and office furniture and decor. This project consisted of a full seismic retrofit, including footings, cast in place concrete shear walls, the retrofit of a three-story elevator, parapet bracing, and roof diaphragm, for the historic 1924 Fisk Tire Building, as well as a complete exterior restoration and interior tenant improvement of 30,000 SF of retail space.

Pacific Plaza

Owner: CSS Properties, LLC.

Architect: Scott | Edwards Architecture

New 16,500 SF retail building with easy access tenant spaces to accommodate restaurants, offices, and retail spaces. Large exterior and interior storefronts with a shared central corridor to provide entry for shoppers and tenants. The site includes parking, outdoor seating and is within walking distance of public transit.

John's Marketplace

Owner: Johns Marketplace

Architect: EM Architecture, LLC.

John's Marketplace offers Portland’s largest selection of beer, wine, and cider including Kegs to Go, craft, microbrew, nano brew, domestics, and import selections at two locations. Tenant improvement work at their Powell location included an indoor counter bar and an outdoor patio with a custom mural.

Oregrown

 

Owner: Oregrown Industries, Inc.

Architect: MOA Architecture

Oregon’s premier farm-to-table cannabis company, Oregrown cultivates organic-method, indoor cannabis and processes world-class products in the pursuit of unparalleled craftsmanship in every facet of their supply chain. This project required a complete seismic upgrade and change of use converting an auto repair shop into a retail building, including foundation work, moment frames, new connections of walls to the roof structure, and the installation of a plywood roof diaphragm.

Blick Art Materials

Architect: A57 Architecture

Blick Art Materials provides artists, educators, students, and their associates with the tools, assistance, and training needed to grow, innovate and reach their creative potential. Project work includes the seismic upgrade of a 1923 vintage building including extensive structural work, wall and roof connections, parapet bracing, and roof diaphragm construction. The project utilized recycled flooring from North Medford High School‘s wood gymnasium.

5300 Building

Owner: 5300 N Lombard, LLC.

Architect: Baysinger Partners Architects

Developed into four retail tenant spaces, this 20,000 SF building (including basement) received a full building renovation and seismic upgrade to meet seismic and energy codes, including full MEP upgrades. The building is located on North Lombard and is part of the revitalization and historic preservation of that storied neighborhood.

The modern design seamlessly integrates aesthetics with functionality, creating a space that is not only visually appealing but also serves the diverse needs of the credit union's members.

Nestled in the heart of Bridgeport Village, the 2,000 SF Unitus Community Credit Union branch is strategically positioned to serve the community with accessibility and convenience. Joseph Hughes Construction played a pivotal role in realizing the vision of a modern financial institution within this thriving retail and lifestyle destination.
