Joe Hughes, JHC founder, announces his transition out of the President role effective January 1, 2024.
Congratulations to our founder, Joe Hughes, who announced his transition out of the President role effective January 1, 2024. Joe founded the company in April of 1981, nearly 43 years ago. Joe will remain with the company and continue to interact on a regular basis with clients, trades, and employees for the foreseeable future.
Tom Rue, a current partner who has been with JHC for nearly 39 years, will step into the role of President and lead the company. Tom has extensive construction experience and a deep industry network within the Portland market.
Taylor Schmitz, CFO will join the ownership group as part of the company's succession plan. Taylor has a strong educational background, and career experiences in finance, accounting, and business. He has spent nearly a decade in the construction industry in the Portland metro area.
