Almost every inch of the former Tabor Bread structure, including the under-renovation European-styled building‘s roof, is under construction. Fixtures for what’ll become TPK Brewing Co., including bar parts and a set of stairs that’ll lead to a new second floor, sit unassembled as Elliott Kaplan leads a building tour.
The spot, on which Portland-based JHC Construction is working feverishly to enhance an inherently Gothic feel, does feature one prominent holdover from the bakery: a massive fireplace near the entry that’ll provide a visually arresting gathering nexus for future beer-loving gamers.
